Is Azeroth Survivors safe?

Short answer: yes, if you play it in the browser or take the Windows build from the official link. Here is how to check a download yourself, and what fake copies look like.

  • Unsigned fan build, shipped as a .rar archive.
  • Only from the link on the official page.

Checking the Windows download, step by step

  1. Get it from the official page. Open wow.aethus.pl and use its Windows link. Not a search result, not a mirror, not a video description.
  2. Scan the archive before opening it. Upload the .rar to VirusTotal, which checks it with dozens of antivirus engines. One or two vague "generic" or "suspicious" hits are common for unsigned indie builds. Several engines naming the same trojan is a reason not to run it.
  3. Extract the whole folder. Windows 11 opens .rar in File Explorer; otherwise use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR. Run the game from the extracted folder, not from inside the archive.
  4. Expect SmartScreen. "Windows protected your PC / unknown publisher" appears because the build is unsigned. If you got the file from the official link and the scan looks clean, choose More info → Run anyway.
  5. Nothing should ask for more. The game needs no account, no payment and no separate launcher.

Red flags: fake copies and scams

  • Asks you to log in with a Battle.net or Blizzard account.
  • Asks for payment, a subscription or "premium" access.
  • Wants you to install a separate "launcher" or "downloader".
  • Offers an APK or an app-store app. There is no official mobile app.
  • Offers cheats or trainers bundled with the game.
  • Hosts the download on a file site the developer never linked.

Safety FAQ

Is Azeroth Survivors safe?

The browser version is the safest way to play: it runs inside your browser's sandbox, installs nothing and needs no account. The Windows build is an unsigned fan build; get it only from the link on wow.aethus.pl and scan it before running it.

Is Azeroth Survivors a virus?

The game is a free fan project, and the browser version cannot install anything. Risk comes from copies: re-uploads, "launchers" and APKs on other sites can be anything. Only use the official link, and scan any download with VirusTotal before you open it.

Why does Windows SmartScreen warn about it?

The build is not signed with a paid code-signing certificate, so Windows shows "unknown publisher" for it. That is normal for free indie and fan builds and is not proof of malware on its own. It is also exactly why you should only use the official link.

How do I open the Azeroth Survivors .rar file?

The Windows build comes as a .rar archive. Windows 11 can open .rar files in File Explorer; otherwise use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR. Extract the whole folder, then run the game from inside it. Do not run it from inside the archive.

Can I get banned from World of Warcraft for playing it?

It does not connect to World of Warcraft or Battle.net at all. You never log in with a Blizzard account, so there is nothing to ban. Any site asking for your Battle.net login is a scam.

Is there an Azeroth Survivors APK or app?

There is no official Android or iPhone app. On phones you play the official site in a current mobile browser. You can also try the Windows build on Android through Winlator, a community app that runs Windows programs; that is unofficial and a fair amount of setup (see the Winlator section). Treat any "Azeroth Survivors APK" download with suspicion.

Is this guide site safe?

This site is an independent text guide for Azeroth Survivors. We host no game files, no embeds and no downloads; every play link takes you straight to the developer's official site, wow.aethus.pl.
