Mobile and Steam Deck
Azeroth Survivors has no app and no Steam release, but it runs in a phone's browser with touch controls, and the official Windows build can run on a Steam Deck. Here is what each route needs, and which ones are unofficial.
Every way to play away from a PC
| Device | Route | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Android phone or tablet | Browser (Chrome, Samsung Internet) | Official | Needs WebGPU; see the requirements below. |
| iPhone / iPad | Safari or any iOS browser | Official | iOS / iPadOS 18+ (or 17.4+). |
| Android without WebGPU | Windows build in Winlator | Unofficial | Community emulator; results vary by phone. |
| Steam Deck | Windows build with Proton | Unofficial | Add it as a non-Steam game. |
| Steam Deck | Browser in Desktop Mode | Unofficial | WebGPU is behind a flag on its GPU. |
"Official" means the game's own browser version, which the developer built touch controls for. "Unofficial" routes are community workarounds: neither the developer nor this guide supports them, and how well they run depends on your device.
Phones and tablets: the browser version
Open the official site in your phone's browser and tap Enter World. There is nothing to install and no account. The game draws its own on-screen touch controls. What decides whether it runs is WebGPU, the graphics feature the browser version needs.
Android: what you need
- Chrome 121 or newer on Android 12 or newer, on a phone with a Qualcomm (Adreno), ARM (Mali) or Intel GPU. That is where Chrome turns WebGPU on by default.
- Phones with an Imagination (PowerVR) GPU need Android 16.
- On Samsung Xclipse GPUs (some Galaxy models) and other GPUs, Chrome has not switched WebGPU on by default yet.
- Samsung Internet also supports WebGPU. Firefox for Android does not by default.
On Android the first tap puts the game in fullscreen and locks it to landscape, so the browser bars get out of the way. Long-pressing does not open the browser's menu.
iPhone and iPad: what you need
- iOS or iPadOS 18 or newer (or iOS 17.4+ with WebGPU enabled in Safari Feature Flags), where WebGPU is officially supported.
- Switching browsers does not help. Chrome and the other iPhone and iPad browsers run on Safari's engine, so they get the same WebGPU support as Safari.
- iPhone browsers cannot put a web page in fullscreen or lock its orientation. Turn the phone sideways yourself, and expect the browser bars to stay.
First run on a phone
- The first seconds stutter while the game prepares its shaders. This settles once they are built.
- If the graphics driver crashes, the game says so on screen. Reload the page to play on.
- "This browser has no WebGPU" means your browser or system is too old, or your GPU is not supported yet. Update both; if that does not help, see Winlator below.
- Settings worth changing: lower Render Scale for a steadier frame rate (it draws the 3D world at a fraction of the screen's resolution), and adjust UI Scale and HUD Scale so the interface fits a small screen.
- Late waves put hundreds of enemies on screen; close other apps and keep the phone charged.
Winlator: the Windows build on Android
Winlator is a free, open-source Android app that runs Windows (x86_64) programs with Wine and Box64. You can try it with the official Windows build of Azeroth Survivors, which needs no WebGPU. It is worth the setup only if your phone's browser cannot run the game.
- Install Winlator only from its GitHub releases page (version 11.2 at the time of writing). Open it once and let it finish setting up.
-
On the phone, download the Windows build from the
official page. It is a
.rararchive: extract the whole folder with an archive app that opens.rarfiles. -
In Winlator, create a container, start it, and open the game's
.exefrom the extracted folder. Winlator's own tips suggest adding a shortcut on its home screen, where you can keep separate settings for one game. - If it is unstable, Winlator's tips suggest trying a different Box64 preset in the container's Advanced settings.
Never install an APK that claims to be Azeroth Survivors itself. Winlator is a separate tool; the game only ever comes from the official page.
Steam Deck
Azeroth Survivors is not on Steam, so there is no store page and no Steam Deck rating. Both routes below are unofficial, and we have not tested them on a Deck ourselves. The game supports gamepads: by default the left stick moves, the right stick turns the view, A jumps, and the bumpers and triggers zoom. Stick dead zone, camera speed and axis inversion are in Options → Gamepad.
Route 1: Windows build with Proton
Avoids the WebGPU question: the Windows build does not need it.
- Switch to Desktop Mode (Steam button → Power → Switch to Desktop).
-
Download the Windows build from the official
page and extract the whole
.rarfolder. If the Deck's archive tool will not open it, extract it on a PC and copy the folder over. - In the Steam client, click Add a Game → Add a Non-Steam Game and browse to the game's
.exe. - In that shortcut's Properties → Compatibility, tick Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool and pick a Proton version.
- Back in Gaming Mode, the game is in your library under Non-Steam.
Route 2: a browser in Desktop Mode
No download, but WebGPU needs switching on.
- In Desktop Mode, install Chrome from the Discover software center.
-
The Deck has an AMD GPU, and Chrome on Linux keeps WebGPU behind a flag for AMD GPUs. Open
chrome://flags/#enable-unsafe-webgpu, enable it and restart Chrome. -
If the game still reports no WebGPU, the WebGPU working group's implementation notes list extra launch
options for these Linux GPUs:
--enable-unsafe-webgpu --ozone-platform=x11 --use-angle=vulkan --enable-features=Vulkan,VulkanFromANGLE. - To launch it from Gaming Mode, add Chrome to Steam with Add a Non-Steam Game, as Valve describes for desktop apps.
With either route, addons work as on any PC: with the Windows build, use Options → AddOns → Open AddOns Folder; in the browser, install a .zip. See the addons guide.
Mobile and Steam Deck FAQ
Is there an Azeroth Survivors app or APK?
No. There is no official Android or iPhone app and no app-store listing. On a phone you play the official site in your browser. Treat any "Azeroth Survivors APK" as a fake: it is not from the developer.
Which phones can run Azeroth Survivors?
Any phone whose browser has WebGPU. On Android that means Chrome 121 or newer on Android 12 or newer with a Qualcomm, ARM or Intel GPU (Imagination GPUs need Android 16). On iPhone and iPad it means iOS or iPadOS 18 or newer (or iOS 17.4+ with WebGPU enabled in Advanced Settings), in any browser. See phones for the details.
Why does the game crash on my phone?
One known cause is the phone's graphics driver giving up while the game prepares a shader, in the first seconds of play. The game detects this and tells you so on screen; reload the page to play on. If the browser has no WebGPU at all, the game shows a "no WebGPU" message instead: update the browser and the system.
Can I play Azeroth Survivors on iPad?
Yes, on iPadOS 18 or newer (or iPadOS 17.4+ with WebGPU enabled), in Safari or any other browser. The game uses the same touch controls as on a phone. Turn the iPad to landscape yourself: browsers on iPadOS cannot lock a web page's orientation.
Does Azeroth Survivors work on Steam Deck?
It can, through one of two unofficial routes: the official Windows build added to Steam as a non-Steam game and run with Proton, or a browser in Desktop Mode. The game is not on Steam, so it has no Steam Deck rating. See Steam Deck.
Is Winlator safe?
Winlator is an open-source Android app published on GitHub by its developer. Install it only from its own GitHub releases page. Like any APK installed outside the Play Store, it asks you to allow installs from that source; switch that permission off again afterwards.
Requirements on this page come from the browser makers' published WebGPU support, Valve's Steam Deck desktop FAQ, Winlator's own notes and the game's own messages. They were checked on 18 October 2026 against game 0.97.1. For PC, Mac and Linux, see download and platforms or the Azeroth Survivors guide.
