Best class

Azeroth Survivors tier list

Hunter, Warlock and Mage sit at the top. Paladin and Warrior are the easiest to win with. Here is every class ranked, with why, and who should play it.

Updated · checked against game 0.90

Editorial ranking. This list is our judgement of each class's kit and talent capstones in game 0.90, cross-checked against community runs. It is not measured data, and the developer patches balance often. Last reviewed October 15, 2026.

S

S tier · Strongest picks right now

Hunter

Ranged

“Death from range. Arrows, traps and volleys, as long as you keep your distance.”

Kills from a safe distance, gets free damage from pets and has the scariest single-target crits in the game. The best mix of safety and power for most players right now.

Warlock

Ranged

“Curses and fire. Damage over time stacks up on everything that chases you.”

Damage over time that jumps from corpse to corpse, demons that fight for you and self-healing from your own DoTs. Snowballs hard once a few talents are online.

Mage

Ranged

“The glass cannon. The biggest area damage in Azeroth, and nothing to hide behind.”

The fastest screen-clear in the game and three very different capstones. Punishes mistakes: you have the least health and no pets to hide behind.

A

A tier · Strong and reliable

Paladin

Melee

“Holy ground and righteous hammers. Heals himself, shrugs off death once in a while.”

The easiest class to finish a zone with: Consecration under your feet, shields, self-healing and a once-per-90-sec death save. Lower damage ceiling than the S tier.

Warrior

Melee

“Unstoppable in the thick of it. Huge health, cleaving swings, and every kill feeds the fury.”

Huge health and cleaving swings make it the most forgiving melee class. The Whirlwind capstone turns you into a blender that never stops spinning.

Shaman

Hybrid

“Storms that jump from foe to foe, and totems that fight beside you.”

Chain Lightning scales beautifully with dense waves, and totems or spirit wolves add free damage. Slightly slower start than the S-tier casters.

B

B tier · Fine, but work harder for it

Priest

Ranged

“Light and Shadow. Shields and heals keep you alive while pain spreads through the horde.”

Very safe thanks to Power Word: Shield, with Shadow Word: Pain that jumps on death. Damage ramps slower than Warlock, which does the DoT game better.

Druid

Hybrid

“Moon, storm and growth. Roots, hurricanes and the steadiest self-healing.”

The steadiest self-healing in the game plus treants, roots and falling stars. Comfortable and flexible, but rarely the fastest clear.

Rogue

Melee

“Fast, fragile and lethal. The quickest hero, with crits that delete elites.”

The fastest hero and great against elites and guardians, but a fragile melee class. Rewarding for players who already know the zones.

How we rank classes

  • Safety: health, shields, self-healing, death saves, range and pets that body-block.
  • Scaling: how well the capstone and milestone talents grow with dense late waves (chain, spread and explosion effects score high).
  • Boss damage: whether the class can burst a boss before it enrages below 30% health.
  • Community results: what wins in long runs posted by players, such as Aimed Shot Hunters and Soul Fire Warlocks.

Tiers assume a class with most of its talents earned. Before that, every class is weaker, and the easy classes pull ahead. If a patch shifts the balance, we update this page and the date at the top.

Tier list FAQ

What is the best class in Azeroth Survivors?

Hunter, Warlock and Mage form our S tier. Hunter is the best all-rounder: safe range, pets and huge Aimed Shot crits. Warlock spreads damage over time and snowballs. Mage has the biggest area damage but the least health.

What is the best class for beginners?

Paladin and Warrior. Paladin has shields, self-healing and a death save every 90 seconds; Warrior has huge health and cleaving swings. Hunter is a close third if you prefer ranged.

Is Rogue bad in Azeroth Survivors?

No, it is just demanding. Rogue is the fastest hero and deletes elites, but it is fragile melee. In experienced hands, a poison or Sinister Strike build clears every zone.

Does race matter?

A bit. Racials are small but real: Orc Blood Fury (+35% damage for 12 sec), Gnome luck and cooldowns, Undead and Night Elf death-immunity. See racials by race.
