Azeroth Survivors not working: fixes (unofficial guide)
What each error message in Azeroth Survivors means and what to try, using only the messages the official site and the game actually show. This is a fan guide, not official support.
Error messages when the game loads
These are the messages the official page shows before or while the browser version starts, quoted as the page writes them, with the fix the message itself gives.
| The page says | What to do |

This browser has no WebGPU. The world needs it: use a current Chrome, Edge or Safari (Linux Chrome: enable chrome://flags/#enable-unsafe-webgpu). | Update the browser or switch to one that has WebGPU (see by browser), or use the Windows build, which needs no WebGPU. |
WebGPU found no usable graphics card. | On a laptop with two GPUs: Windows Settings → System → Display → Graphics → Chrome (or Edge) → High performance, then restart the browser. Otherwise turn on Use graphics acceleration when available (chrome://settings/system or edge://settings/system) and update the graphics driver. chrome://gpu shows why WebGPU is disabled. |
The graphics card stopped responding to the game (WebGPU device lost: …) | Reload the page. If it keeps happening on a laptop with two GPUs, set the browser to one of them (High performance, as above) and restart the browser. |
The phone's graphics driver crashed while the game was preparing a shader (WebGPU device lost: …) | Reload the page to play on. |
The game failed to start in this browser (…) | The text in brackets is the reason. If it contains HTTP 429, the page also shows the "Too many people are playing" note below. For a WebGPU reason, try the fixes above. |
Too many people are playing!!! | Shown when the official site has hit its daily request limit (HTTP 429). The note links the official Discord and the Windows download. The page gives no waiting time. |
Fake website detected! | The game only plays at wow.aethus.pl, not on copies or inside other pages. If you made progress on the copy, the message offers a Download your save button; then on wow.aethus.pl open Options → Saves → Import Save. |

WebGPU by browser
The browser version needs WebGPU; the game's own message names a current Chrome, Edge or Safari.
- Chrome on Windows, macOS and ChromeOS: WebGPU is on by default from Chrome 113 (on Windows it needs Direct3D 12, on ChromeOS Vulkan), per Google's release note.
- Chrome on Linux: enable
chrome://flags/#enable-unsafe-webgpuand restart Chrome, as the game's message says. - Safari on Mac: Safari 26 added WebGPU, and Safari 26 is available on macOS Tahoe, Sequoia and Sonoma, per WebKit's Safari 26 notes.
- iPhone and iPad: on iOS or iPadOS 26, WebGPU is on by default in Safari and the other browsers. On iOS or iPadOS 18, only Safari can get it, after you switch on WebGPU under Safari → Advanced → Feature Flags in the Settings app; Chrome and other browsers there cannot. Details: phones and tablets.
- Android: Chrome 121 or newer on Android 12 or newer, with a Qualcomm, ARM or Intel GPU (Imagination GPUs need Android 16). See the mobile guide.
If none of this works on your computer, the official Windows build needs no WebGPU at all; see below.
Lag and low frame rate
These settings in Options are the ones the game itself describes as costing frame rate or performance:
- Render Scale:
Below 100% trades sharpness for frame rate; above 100% smooths edges at the cost of frame rate.
- Terrain Distance, Environment Detail, Spell Detail and Weather Intensity: the game says to decrease each one to improve performance.
- Multisampling smooths jagged edges
at some cost in frame rate
and takes effect the next time the game starts.
On a laptop with two GPUs, the game's own advice for WebGPU problems also applies here: set the browser to the dedicated GPU (see the messages above).

Keep your save before you change anything
Before you switch browser, clear your browsing data or move to another computer, keep a copy of your progress:
- Open Options → Saves and choose Export Save. In the browser the file downloads; the Windows build puts it in its Saves folder.
- On the other browser or computer, open the same page and choose Import Save.
- The file holds your heroes, the zones each class has opened, gear, talents and the codex.
- Importing replaces all of your progress with the one in the file, so export the other one first if it matters.
- Every hour you play, the game keeps a backup of your progress (the last 5). Import one from the same page to go back to it.
| The game says | Meaning |
|---|---|
That is not an Azeroth Survivors save file. | You picked a different file. Pick the exported save. |
That save file is damaged or was edited, and cannot be read. | The game rejects damaged or edited saves. Use another export or one of the hourly backups. |
There is no folder to export to. | The game had no folder to write the export to. |

The Windows build: when the browser will not work
The official page offers a Windows download for playing without a browser
, and the official code notes it
needs no WebGPU. When we checked on October 28, 2026, the link served a .rar archive of about 755 MB.
Get it only from wow.aethus.pl; our
download guide explains the platforms and is it safe? covers
scanning it.
It does not start
- Extract the whole archive first. Windows 11 version 24H2 opens RAR archives in File
Explorer (right-click → Extract All), per
Microsoft's support page;
on older Windows you need an archive tool that opens
.rar. Then run the game's.exefrom the extracted folder. - Keep the extracted folder together. The game keeps files beside itself, such as the
benilla-configfolder that holds its logs. - Microsoft Defender SmartScreen warning. SmartScreen warns about files it knows to be unsafe, and also about files that are not on its list of well-known, frequently downloaded files, per Microsoft's SmartScreen overview. Only continue if the file came from the official page and a scan looks clean; see checking the download.
Co-op error messages
Co-op messages start with Co-op is unavailable:
, Could not join:
or The party ended:
,
followed by one of these reasons, as the game writes them:
| Reason | What to do |
|---|---|
a different version of the game | Reload the game page so you run the newest version. |
that lobby plays a different version of the game | Both of you reload the game page. |
wrong password | Check the password with the host. |
no lobby with that code | Check the lobby code with the host. |
the party is full | Find another lobby. |
the run is under way | The host has already entered the zone. |
too many tries; wait a minute | Wait a minute, then try again. |
too many lobbies open; try again later | Try again later. |
co-op needs the game's site | Play co-op at wow.aethus.pl. |
the co-op service cannot be reached | Check your connection and try again. |
the co-op relay cannot be reached | Check your connection and try again. |
that lobby name isn't allowed / that description isn't allowed | Choose a different lobby name or description. |
that password is too long | Choose a shorter password. |
the host sent you away / the host left / the host closed the party | The party ended on the host’s side. Join or host another lobby. |
If someone drops mid-run, the game says The host lost connection, reconnecting...
or names the hero, and
tries to reconnect. Heroes marked in red have not opened that zone or difficulty with their class and stay
behind when the host enters.

Phones and Steam Deck
- No fullscreen on iPhone. iPhone browsers (Safari, Chrome and the rest) cannot put a web page in fullscreen or lock it to landscape. Turn the phone sideways yourself; the browser bars stay. On other phones, the first tap goes fullscreen and holds landscape where the browser allows it.
- If the phone's graphics driver crashes while the game prepares a shader, the game says so; reload the page to play on.
- Steam Deck: the game is not on Steam. The two unofficial routes (the Windows build through Proton, or Chrome in Desktop Mode with WebGPU switched on) are in the Steam Deck guide.
Addon problems
- An addon marked Out of date was made for another version and is skipped unless you turn on Load out of date AddOns in Options → AddOns. The game warns that such addons may not work.
- AddOns are turned on or off for every hero and load at your next run.
- In the browser, addons are installed as
.zipfiles from Options → AddOns → Install AddOns.

Troubleshooting FAQ
Why does Azeroth Survivors say my browser has no WebGPU?
The browser version needs WebGPU, and the game checks for it before it starts. Its own advice: use a current Chrome, Edge or Safari, and on Linux Chrome enable chrome://flags/#enable-unsafe-webgpu. The Windows build needs no WebGPU. See WebGPU by browser.
What does "WebGPU found no usable graphics card" mean?
The browser has WebGPU but could not get a graphics card to run it on. The game suggests setting the browser to the dedicated GPU on a laptop with two GPUs (Windows Settings → System → Display → Graphics → High performance), turning on "Use graphics acceleration when available", updating the graphics driver, and checking chrome://gpu.
What does "Too many people are playing" mean?
The official page shows it when its server has hit its daily request limit (HTTP 429). The message itself points to the official Discord and the Windows download. The page gives no waiting time.
How do I keep my progress if the browser version stops working?
Open Options → Saves and use Export Save; import the file with Import Save in another browser or computer. The game also keeps an hourly backup of your progress (the last 5) that you can import from the same page. Importing replaces all progress there.
Does Azeroth Survivors go fullscreen on iPhone?
No. iPhone browsers cannot put a web page in fullscreen or lock it to landscape, so turn the phone sideways yourself; the browser bars stay. See the mobile guide.
Is this the official support page?
No. This is an unofficial fan guide. The messages quoted here come from the official site's code and the game's own text, checked on October 28, 2026. To report a bug to the developer, use the official Discord linked from wow.aethus.pl.
